Uniform & Clothing Comments

For the Lower School, the uniform policy currently allows for all black shorts and pants.  We found that Hank's offering didn't fit our girls, who are very particular about fabric & fit.  Before the start of the school year, we try to buy all needed items - as the weather may change quickly.    

In addition to the uniform items purchased from Hank's, our list generally includes: black shorts, skorts, thin pants, thick black pants, indoor shoes, outdoor shoes, outdoor shoes, rain jacket, medium jacket and rain boots.  Then in October, we recheck winter jacket, gloves, hat scarves, and winter boots.  When the girls were in kindergarten, they did frequently wear snow pants during winter days. 

Here are some of the stores where we've had the best luck:  

• Athleta girl:  this year our girls really liked the black skorts and shorts. 

• H&M: usually a few black pant options from thinner to thicker are available.  

• Old Navy

• Super Store brand George: their black thin pants are a family favourite.

Also throughout the year, there may be special coloured shirts allowed for specific days, such as:

• Purple

• Orange

• Green

• Pink

• Red

If we had a list at the start of school, it would be great to be able to make sure that we have all of these shirts ready.
